The Consumer Credit Division of the Connecticut Department of Banking regulates Connecticut mortgage lenders and Connecticut mortgage brokers. Approximately 1,600 First Mortgage Lenders and First Mortgage Brokers, and 1,300 Secondary Mortgage Lenders and Secondary Mortgage Brokers are licensed in the State of Connecticut. Connecticut’s licensee list is available for approximately $50.00 from Maria Burgos in the Consumer Credit Division, at (860) 240-8200. A list of licensees may also be obtained on the Department’s Internet site.2 .
