 Illinois licensing statute, the Illinois Residential Mortgage License Act, was originally enacted in 1987. The Illinois Office of Banks and Real Estate regulates Illinois mortgage lenders and Illinois mortgage brokers pursuant to that statute. Approximately 1800 lenders and brokers are licensed in the State of Illinois.
