 The Kansas Office of the State Bank Commissioner regulates consumer finance companies and Kansas mortgage lenders under the Consumer Credit Code. Approximately 900 Mortgage Lenders and Consumer Finance Companies are licensed by the Administrator. The Supervised Lender licensee list is available on its Internet site.

The Kansas Office of the State Bank Commissioner also regulates Kansas mortgage lenders and Kansas mortgage brokers. Approximately 700 Mortgage Lenders and Mortgage Brokers are licensed in the State of Kansas. The licensee list is available on the Internet at www.osbckansas.org.

Kansas’s Consumer Credit Code was originally enacted January 1, 1974. Kansas’s Mortgage Business Act was originally enacted in 1996. Both laws underwent substantial revisions in 1999 and the Mortgage Business Act underwent additional revisions in 20012 .
