 The Department of Financial Institutions regulates residential mortgage servicers. In addition, the Department regulates Utah mortgage lenders and Utah brokers who are a depository or affiliate of a depository. All other mortgage lenders and brokers are regulated by the Utah Division of Real Estate, Department of Commerce. Approximately 300 mortgage servicers, mortgage brokers, and mortgage lenders are registered at the Department. The Department’s list is available on its website, www.dfi.state.ut.us. A list is also printed in the annual Report of the Commissioner of Financial Institutions for the State of Utah as of June 30 of each year. Contact the Department for further information2 .
